SERDANG - A total of 429 participants attended a Webinar organized by the Career Counseling Section, Universiti Putra Malaysia Counseling Division (BKUPM). The program runs for 14 series from March 28 to April 04, 2020. All participants are students of the Centre of Foundation Studies For Agricultural Science, University Putra Malaysia (ASPER UPM).

Because BKUPM did not operate face-to-face during the Movement Control Order (MCO), the section therefore adopted an approach to conduct online group counseling sessions. This webinar is an initiative to continue providing guidance and information to students through the GoToMeeting platform. The counselors involved in the program included Mr Mohamad Ashaari Awab as Head of Career Counseling Section and assisted by Mr Ansarul Haq Tahrir Adli and Mdm. Noorihayatti Noorudin.

The essence of the program is to provide guidance to students to identify their personalities and career interests. In addition, students will also be provided with guidance and information on the types of references such as study program guides, job descriptions and websites as additional info. Students are also exposed to preparation and strategies for attending interviews. It is hoped that this partnership will help the students to make the best decision in choosing a Bachelor's degree course.

This webinar has been running for one hour per session. It has been a success because it has been able to convey information and connect students from various places while under the MCO. Looking at this success, of course it is beyond the norm but it is impossible to achieve.
