Conflict occurs when there is a dispute or misunderstanding between two individuals regarding any issue. Conflict is a negative thing because it can affect relationships and damage relationships between the individuals. Therefore, we must strive to avoid conflict. However, if we have been stuck with any conflict, here are some tips that can be used to overcome the situation.
1. Listen to the views of the opponent
The first step that can be considered in overcoming a conflict is to listen to the point of view of the opponent. Often, in conflict situations, we will avoid listening to, accepting the opinions and views of our opponents because of the ego. Therefore, first of all, we must lower our egos and listen to the opinions of our opponents.
2. Control the emotions
If you are experiencing a conflict situation, you will definitely experience negative emotions such as angry emotions and ego. To overcome the conflict experienced, you must control those negative emotions from taking over yourself. Remote those negative emotions so as not to aggravate the situation and cause you to act irrationally.
3. Trying to reach a break
Two individuals experiencing conflict inevitably have different opinions of each other. Therefore, in order to overcome the conflict, the individuals involved must strive to find similarities with each other and reach a decision or "common ground" that is beneficial to both parties and subsequently resolve the conflict experienced.
