Merdeka Day is a day celebrated on 31 August every year by Malaysians. However, the outbreak of Covid-19 has prevented Malaysians from celebrating Independence Day on a large scale like previous years. On the 64th Independence Day, we are celebrating this special day at home with our loved ones. However, that does not mean that we cannot ignite the spirit of independence even if we just need to stay at home. Here are some tips that can help us rekindle the spirit of independence during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The first step you can do to celebrate Independence Day at home is to install and fly the Jalur Gemilang around the residential area. By flying the Jalur Gemilang, you will be able to ignite the spirit of patriotism and prove our pride in our beloved country. Fly it on your social media sites as well.
Playing the national anthems can also inspire the spirit of independence, the spirit of patriotism and the feeling of love for the country.
While the Covid-19 epidemic is still contagious, we must keep SOPs and stay at home to prevent the spread of the epidemic widely. On this year’s independence day, make sure you stay home and take care of the SOPs as we are still fighting the Covid-19 pandemic. This will also be able to ignite the spirit of patriotism because by choosing to keep the SOPs and stay at home, you are serving the country and all Malaysians.
