HOW TO CHANGE UNHEALTHY STUDY HABITS

Each individual has his own learning habits. This learning habit is learned from the habitual behavior done while reviewing lessons. A person's study habits can be said to be unchanged from the beginning of primary school studies until higher studies. However, learning demands and learning methods are constantly changing according to current learning needs and demands. For example, while in school, learning techniques are more about drills and understanding learning objectively, but at a higher level of education, an individual will be tested on understanding and application of knowledge. It may be that the learning methods practiced before did not work and may even be unhealthy for you! I Thus, one needs to change the way of learning style which is better according to the current demands. Let's find out how to change unhealthy study habits to more efficient study habits! 

 

1. Keep away from distractions 

There are individuals who have the habit of studying in noisy and busy conditions. You can change that routine by studying without distractions including the distraction of your smartphone! Silent learning can help you calm down and be able to fully focus on the information that needs to be understood. 

2. Build realistic learning goals

When building study goals, one can focus the need to focus in each subject systematically. No more missing subjects to review. 

3. Set priorities

Everyone has a preference for subjects that are easy or easy to understand and do not miss subjects that are difficult to understand. Prioritize subjects that need to be focused on so that you have more time to revise. It is better if the subject can be focused with a more knowledgeable friend.

4. Build a good environment

A good environment can create a good mood. Therefore, the environment plays an important role when studying. For example, the atmosphere in the library gives a positive mood when everyone is focused on books and the atmosphere is calmer.

5. Take a short break

Studying continuously is also an unhealthy practice. You need to have time to rest at 1 hour intervals. Take a break to straighten your back, close your eyes and sit in a relaxed position for 5-10 minutes. Having time to relax can help you stay focused while studying.
