UPM Serdang, 8 November - The Mentally Healthy  (Sehat) Selangor Program 2023 is an initiative of the Student Intervention Unit, the Student Counseling Section of the Counseling Division of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), the International Islamic University (UIAM) and the UPM Student Friend Club (KRS) and the Representative Council The Chancellor's College to increase students' awareness and understanding of basic skills to help when dealing with friends who are at risk of experiencing a mental health crisis. This program will be held on 4 November 2023, Saturday from 8.00 am to 1.30 pm which will be held at the UPM Chancellor's College Hall. The purpose of this program is because it can improve students' skills to identify verbal and non-verbal signs of individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. Apart from that, it gives understanding to students the skills to communicate with friends who have experienced trauma and emergency events. Likewise, it can increase students' concern for mental health issues.

The Mentally Healthy (Sehat) Selangor Program 2023 was presented by two (2) speakers namely Puan Nur Aini Alegrea Suner as a Lecturer, Clinical Psychologist at the International Islamic University Malaysia (UIAM) and Prof. Assoc. Dr. Pamilia Lourdunathan as Lecturer, IIUM Department of Psychology. A total of 50 students attended this program successfully. The main goal of this program is to give understanding and basic skills to help students about the importance of maintaining good mental health and the urgency of getting early care for those in need. Puan Kemelia binti Omar, UPM's Psychology Officer as the coordinator of this program stated "grateful that this program runs smoothly and has received excellent commitment from the students. It is hoped that what is learned through this program can be applied to themselves and the people around them in the future."
