SERDANG, August 18 – The Pre-Akrab Course 2.0 is an initiative of the Career Counseling Section, Counseling Division UPM in collaboration with the Registrar’s Office, aimed at the recruitment and accreditation of new Akrab members for the year 2025 as Rakan Pembimbing Perkhidmatan Awam (AKRAB) for each PTJ at Universiti Putra Malaysia. The Pre-Akrab Course 2.0 was conducted on August 5-8, 2025, for four consecutive days, held at the Counseling Division UPM and virtually through the Zoom application.

This course was attended by a total of 31 potential candidates nominated by each PTJ at Universiti Putra Malaysia as Akrab Members. All participants gave excellent cooperation throughout the course. The participants were provided with knowledge, skills, techniques, and ethics as Akrab Members in assisting their PTJ community in the future. Among the knowledge they gained were the concept of AKRAB implementation, individual guidance, group guidance, facilitator skills, personal financial management, mental health management, and psychological first aid (PFA). All speakers who were present were either appointed speakers or trainers by the Public Service Department, utilizing the Pre-Akrab 2.0 module. All participants completed this course successfully with the final module assessment of 2 hours held on the last day of the course.

Dr. Syarifah Sheril Azlin Syed Baharin, Coordinator of AKRAB UPM, expressed her gratitude that the Pre-Akrab Course 2.0 could be carried out smoothly due to the continuous support from the UPM Registrar, Mr. Muhazam Mansor, and the Head of the Counseling Division UPM, Dr. Mazila Ghazali, as well as the strong commitment from the organizing committee consisting of the Career Counseling Section Team, the Administration and Finance Section Team, BKUPM, and the Technical Team assisted by Mr. Fikri Draffar (IDec, UPM).

Congratulations to all participants, the new AKRAB Members who successfully attended the Pre-Akrab Course 2.0 and passed the final assessment. Alhamdulillah!
