SERDANG, 29 Julai - The Counseling Division of Universiti Putra Malaysia (BKUPM) continued its commitment to strengthening students' academic excellence and well-being through the Academic Tour@K14 programme, held on 24 June 2026, from 8.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. via Zoom Meeting. Organised in collaboration with the College Representative Council (MPK), the programme attracted 300 student participants who were eager to enhance their academic management skills and strengthen their motivation for academic success.
The programme aimed to provide students with practical exposure to systematic academic management through a structured and effective learning module. Participants were introduced to strategies for effective study planning, time management, goal setting, and productive learning habits that can help improve academic performance throughout the semester.
Throughout the session, participants gained valuable insights into practical learning techniques and self-motivation strategies to support their academic journey. The programme emphasised that academic excellence is not solely determined by intellectual ability but also by discipline, resilience, emotional well-being, and effective self-management. This holistic approach encouraged students to maintain a healthy balance between academic achievement and psychological well-being.
In addition, the programme introduced group coaching as a continuous academic and mental support system throughout the semester. Guided by trained counsellors, participants were given opportunities to discuss academic challenges, receive professional guidance, and build supportive peer networks that enhance confidence, resilience, and problem-solving skills when facing academic demands.
The programme successfully produced positive outcomes, with participants demonstrating improved understanding of systematic academic management, increased self-motivation, and greater confidence in managing their studies effectively. The establishment of an ongoing academic support and mental well-being system through group coaching further strengthened students' ability to remain focused and resilient throughout the semester.
Overall, Academic Tour@K14 successfully achieved its objectives by enhancing students' academic management skills, motivation, and confidence while promoting a supportive learning environment. BKUPM hopes that initiatives such as this will continue to produce resilient, high-achieving students who are well-equipped academically and psychologically to succeed in higher education.
