UPM Serdang, Feb 21st – Collaboration between the UPM Counseling Division and the University Health Center (PKU) at the Faculty of Engineering, UPM through the Cemerlang Individu Cemerlang Organisasi (CICO) program. This roadshow concept program is to encourage staff at the Faculty of Engineering to do health screening as an early preventive measure to detect physical health issues as well as mental health.
The 1-day program was held in the Foyer of the Faculty of Engineering and was attended by all staff including lecturers and senior officers of the faculty. The attending of UPM Counseling Division is to help staff assess their health levels through the DASS (Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale) Health Screening Test. In addition, with the guidance of the counselor on duty, each staff can determine the ideal approach in handling stress through personality analysis. 'Everyone has their own style of handling issues in life. Therefore, through the counsellor's guidance, each staff can get to know themselves better in managing their emotions', commented one of the counselors on duty, Mrs. Noorihayatti.
Mr. Mohamad Ashaari as the Head of the Employee Counseling Section said, 'this cooperation program with PKU is the second time the program has been run and received a very encouraging response. The main focus of the Employee Counseling Section is to help Universiti Putra Malaysia employees achieve emotional and intellectual balance in the pursuit of excellence in their careers'.- UPM
