BKUPM ROADSHOW @ SULTAN ABDUL SAMAD LIBRARY (PSAS) SERIES 4

By: Mrs. Ayna Marliana binti Mohamad Sari

Serdang, August 29 – The Counseling Division of Universiti Putra Malaysia (BKUPM), in collaboration with the Sultan Abdul Samad Library (PSAS), successfully organized the BKUPM Roadshow Series 4 on August 25 and 26, 2025, held at the lobby of the Sultan Abdul Samad Library, UPM.

The two-day program, running from 9.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m., attracted participation from campus community members, including students, staff and visitors at the library. The event aimed to provide early exposure, raise awareness, and support personal well-being, career development, and mental health through interactive and community-friendly approaches.

Key highlights of the program included interactive sessions with counselors, mental health screenings, and personality assessments. These activities gave participants the opportunity to evaluate their psychosocial well-being, identify their strengths and potential, and receive initial guidance from experienced counselors.

According to the Program Director, Dr. Ansarul Haq bin Tahrir Adli, this roadshow series not only brings counseling services closer to the campus community but also builds a deeper understanding of the importance of mental well-being.

“Through this program, we want to change the perception that counseling is only for those with problems. In fact, it is a space for support and self-empowerment that can benefit all members of the university community in excelling academically, professionally, and personally,” he said.

The program also aligns with the university’s agenda to strengthen the holistic development of students and staff. BKUPM recognizes the need to create support spaces beyond counseling rooms, ensuring that psychosocial services are more accessible and approachable. This roadshow approach enables counselors to engage with the campus community in a more open setting while reducing the stigma surrounding mental health issues.

The organization of Roadshow Series 4 reaffirms BKUPM’s commitment to implementing continuous programs that promote a culture of mental well-being on campus. With initiatives like this, UPM members not only raise awareness of the importance of maintaining emotional and mental balance but also gain practical support in facing academic and career challenges.

BKUPM believes that mental well-being is a vital foundation for nurturing excellent, resilient, and socially responsible university members. This program is expected to serve as a catalyst for the university’s ongoing efforts in cultivating inclusive and holistic psychosocial support.
