UPM SERDANG, 27 May - Bahagian Kaunseling UPM successfully conducted the Self-Assessment of the Conducive Ecosystem in the Public Sector (EKSA) 2026, which also included the EKSA BKUPM 2026 Competition held across the Counselling Division premises on 15 May 2026. The assessment session, which began at 9.00 a.m., covered a comprehensive evaluation of workspaces, office environments, and overall workplace management practices.

The assessment was carried out by two EKSA auditors, namely Encik Hanis bin Johari, Senior Assistant Registrar from the Faculty of Agriculture, UPM, and Encik Naszroul Haqimee Rahmat, Science Officer from the University Laboratory Management Division, Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), UPM. The audit covered the entire BKUPM area, including the upper and lower floors as well as the surrounding environment, to ensure compliance with established EKSA standards.

The evaluation comprised several key components, including Component A (Basic Implementation Requirements), Component B (Workplace and Office Areas), Component C (Common Areas), Component D (Environmental Safety), Component E1 (Departmental Surroundings), and Component F (Special Areas). These components were assessed to ensure optimal levels of cleanliness, organisation, safety, and workplace comfort.

The programme saw the participation of 23 staff members, comprising 16 BKUPM staff and 7 counsellor trainees. Their active involvement reflects a strong commitment towards maintaining a systematic, clean, and productive work culture within the division.

As part of the EKSA 2026 competition, three award categories were introduced: the Iconic Zone 2026 (Ellis Zone), the Inspirational Counsellor Room awarded to Puan Noorihayatti binti Noorudin, and the Productive Workstation category awarded to Encik Ahmad Fariz Firdaus bin Ahmad Saupi. These recognitions serve as motivation for continuous improvement in workplace excellence.

The self-assessment recorded an impressive overall score of 96.29%, reflecting a high level of compliance and strong commitment towards EKSA implementation within BKUPM.

Overall, the EKSA Self-Assessment initiative not only strengthens quality work practices but also supports the university’s aspiration to create a more conducive, safe, and competitive working environment.
