SERDANG, February 27 - The Counseling Division of UPM (BKUPM) has taken significant steps to enhance mental health awareness among UPM students. BKUPM has launched several initiatives aimed at promoting healthy lifestyle practices and increasing awareness of the importance of mental health care.
One of the main components of this initiative is the development of the “Procedures for Managing Mental Health Cases Among Students at Universiti Putra Malaysia,” which provides comprehensive guidelines for handling mental health cases at the university level. These guidelines aim to ensure that students receive the necessary support and intervention promptly and efficiently.
BKUPM has also prepared various informative posters that provide tips for emotional and self-management or guidelines for dealing with various mental health issues. Through these informative posters, it is hoped that students will receive the early support they need. The posters have been disseminated to the university community through UPM bulletins, official student emails, and BKUPM’s official social media channels, including the website, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and other mediums, to ensure students are aware of the available support services.
Furthermore, BKUPM has established a panel of counselors for residential colleges, making it easier for students to access mental health support within their living environments. A total of thirteen (13) BKUPM psychological officers have been assigned to different residential colleges at UPM. Students or college management can contact their respective college counselors for counseling services or assistance if needed.
For further information or assistance, students are also encouraged to visit BKUPM directly. We are committed to creating a campus environment that supports the well-being and mental health of all campus members, especially UPM students.
