Career Gamification Training of Trainers (TOT) Program

SERDANG, 1 October - A total of 20 students participated in the Training of Trainers (TOT): Career Gamification program held at the Counseling Division Meeting Room, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). The program served as a preparatory training session for student facilitators who will conduct targeted modules under the Career Gamification Program in conjunction with Career Counselor Talk Series 2, scheduled to take place on 8 November 2025 (Saturday) at Dewan Putra 1, Kolej Tan Sri Aishah Ghani, UPM.

The TOT focused on strengthening participants’ knowledge and facilitation skills, particularly in conducting Group Training Activities (LDK). In addition, participants had the opportunity to experience the activities from a participant’s perspective, allowing them to better understand the program flow and adapt effective facilitation techniques.

Four main career-related modules were introduced during the session, covering communication skills, career values, gamification strategies in activity management, and dynamic group handling. One of the key modules introduced was the Career Readiness Game Board, developed since February, which will be implemented as a pilot test to assess the impact and effectiveness of the gamification approach. A special sharing session by a career counselor was also conducted to provide deeper insights into real-world employment realities and challenges faced by future graduates.

According to Ms. Anis Akmilah, the program coordinator, the voluntary participation of student facilitators reflects their strong commitment and enthusiasm in contributing to peer development.

“This initiative clearly shows that our facilitators are not only ready to lead, but also passionate about becoming agents of support in helping fellow students build their career pathways,” she said.

Through this TOT program, the facilitators are expected to play a key role in ensuring the success of the upcoming Career Gamification Program in November. The initiative demonstrates UPM’s continuous commitment to strengthening career wellbeing and empowering students as high-quality human capital.
