By : Mrs. Syarifah Sheril Azlin binti Syed Baharin K.B.;P.A.

SERDANG, June 19 – The Career Support Group: Towards Career Excellence 2025 program is a structured group counseling initiative based on the Career Module developed by the Career Counseling Section, Counseling Division of UPM. The program aims to empower university staff in achieving career excellence while enhancing overall well-being.

The program was conducted in the form of two group counseling sessions. The first group involved academic management and professional staff, with six participants. The second group consisted of non-academic management, professional staff, and support staff, with eight participants in attendance. Participants were selected based on their readiness and commitment to actively engage in personal development programs.

The career modules used throughout the sessions included Life Map: An Inspiring Vision, My Circle Experience, and Art Therapy: Building Career Resilience. These modules were designed to help participants understand their potential, plan their career direction, and build emotional resilience in facing workplace challenges.

All participants demonstrated a high level of commitment and strong cooperation throughout the sessions. The sessions were facilitated by Mrs. Syarifah Sheril Azlin Syed Baharin, Head of the Career Counseling Section, with support from Mrs. Kamariah Derasol from the Career Development Unit. The implementation of this program aligns with UPM’s ongoing efforts to foster a healthy work culture and support the holistic development of its staff.

Overall, the program received positive feedback from participants due to its relevant and practical content. It also provided a platform for experience-sharing, self-awareness, emotional support, social interaction, and boosting career motivation. Programs like this are seen as crucial in building mental and professional strength in an increasingly competitive and challenging job environment.

UPM hopes that such initiatives will continue to be held regularly to ensure that staff are consistently equipped with the knowledge, support, and guidance they need. This initiative reflects the university’s commitment to providing a conducive work environment and supporting the psychological well-being of its community.

Congratulations to all participants for their enthusiastic participation and dedication!
