UPM Serdang - A total of 42 participants have participated in the Pre-AKRAB Course which aims to involve staff in Management & Professional (Academic), Management & Professional (Non-Academic) and Implementation. This course is a collaborative program between the Staff Counseling Section, the UPM Counseling Division (BKUPM), the UPM Registrar's Office and the Counseling and Welfare Unit, UPMKB. Pre AKRAB Level 1 course was successfully conducted last August 23 to 25. While for the Level 2 Pre-AKRAB Course, it was conducted on 13-15 September 2022. This course was conducted at the BKUPM’s Auditorium. 

According to Mrs. Noorihayatti as the program coordinator, "this familiarization course will be conducted in three phases, the first phase is the Level 1 Pre-AKRAB Course, then the second phase is the Level 2 Pre-AKRAB Course and the Training of Trainers (TOT) AKRAB CARE Course". According to her, this AKRAB Course involves a special assessment that qualifies each participant to be commissioned as a Public Service Mentoring Partner (AKRAB) and if successful in both levels, the participants will follow TOT AKRAB CARE. 

The main focus of the implementation of this AKRAB Course is to appoint certified AKRAB members who act as guides in their respective Responsibility Centers (PTJ) thus assisting the university in the implementation of the Exit Policy. Each participant who joins this course has a different field of background. Therefore, as one of the mandatory requirements to become a certified AKRAB member, each participant needs to go through this course within 7 days with basic training such as guidance and counseling skills, basic helping skills, attending skills as well as basic knowledge about emotional management and human psychology.

BKUPM's hope in the implementation of this AKRAB Course is that more staff can be trained to help BKUPM identify issues among employees. These trained AKRAB members can support other colleagues in managing their emotions and psychology thus increasing their self-confidence in managing their own issues.
