SERDANG, 30 July – The Counselling Division of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) continues to strengthen its role in supporting students' mental well-being through a special broadcast program, CIT CAT Putra FM with the Counsellor, titled “Managing Exam Stress,” held on 15 July 2025 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

This one-hour program was broadcast live via Putra FM campus radio on 90.7 MHz (around the Seri Kembangan area), along with simultaneous live streaming on the UPM Counselling Division’s Facebook page and Putra FM, allowing greater access to listeners both on and off campus. The program featured Mr. Mohamad Za’im Rosli, a Psychology Officer from the UPM Counselling Division, who discussed various aspects of exam-related stress, including its causes, symptoms, and strategies for managing emotions, time, and healthy lifestyle habits during the exam period.

Among the key topics covered were the importance of quality sleep, the role of nutrition and exercise, and stress-control techniques such as deep breathing and meditation. He also emphasized the need for students to set realistic academic goals, reduce digital distractions, and build social support through discussions and group study.

According to Dr. Ansarul Haq Tahrir Adli, the program coordinator, “This program is an initiative to empower students to be mentally prepared in facing academic challenges, especially during the exam season, which is often a major source of stress.”

The live session also provided a casual and reflective space for interaction with the counsellor in a friendly atmosphere, aiming to enhance students’ understanding and awareness of comprehensive mental health care. The organization of this program reflects the UPM Counselling Division’s continuous commitment to fostering a healthy, focused, and resilient campus community.
