COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY FOR HEALING (CBT-H) LEVEL 1 COURSE

UPM Serdang, 25 September – This course is held specifically for Scheme S (Psychological Officers) of UPM and involves two UPM AKRAB representatives. This course was delivered by the guest speaker Prof. Dr. Mohammad Aziz Shah Bin Mohamed Arip. The organization of this course is to strengthen and improve counseling and therapy skills in counseling services with the passage of time so that the services delivered are fast, comprehensive and meet the current needs of campus residents.

For information, the CBT-H Module combines the goals of cognitive therapy and behavioral therapy in influencing emotions or individuals in a form of action-oriented therapy that builds positive and healthy thinking. CBT-H reorganizes the various CBT approaches into a quick, simple and practical model for dealing with maladaptive thought patterns that lead to maladaptive behaviors and negative emotions. Thus, CBT treatment focuses on changing an individual's thinking pattern in order to change the individual's behavior and emotional state.

Thus, the basis of CBT-H is the sharing of three mutually supportive foundations, namely;
a) thought processes affect behavior
b) thought processes can be controlled and modified and
c) the desire to change behavior can be influenced by a change in thinking.

This course is conducted on 14-15 September 2023 (Thursday-Friday) from 8.00 AM - 5.00 PM at the Seminar Hall, Kolej Tun Dr. Ismail UPM. Participants can learn the theory of CBT for Healing, obtain a lot of information related to the core concepts of cognitive behavioral therapy, analyze client problems and understand the true role of counselors in the context of CBT theory, understand and deepen the techniques of CBT for Healing and apply CBT for Healing in a client's case.
