COUNSELING & PSYCHOLOGY INNOVATION WORKSHOP IN HUMAN DEVELOPMENT

UPM Serdang, 1 August - The Counseling & Psychology Innovation Workshop in Human Development is planned to meet the need to add innovation knowledge in the field of psychological counseling to contribute to the development of employees and students at UPM. The implementation of this workshop will involve Psychological Officers on duty at the Serdang, Bintulu campus, Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Hospital, Registrar's Office and UPM Colleague Counselors. This workshop is held on July 5, 2023 from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm at the UP Counseling Division Auditorium. The main goal of this workshop is to provide exposure to innovations and procedures for the production of counseling and psychological innovations for the mental health of UPM citizens.

In this workshop, the participants also learned the components in the preparation of counseling and psychological innovation. In addition, participants were also given methods to analyze the needs of campus residents in the preparation of appropriate innovations. Next, participants can make counseling and psychological innovation plans for UPM students and employees related to mental health care.

This workshop was delivered by Mrs. Jamaida Jamaludin, a counselor from KWSP Shah Alam who has extensive experience in the field of counseling innovation and psychology. He has also won 12 medals (including gold, silver and bronze) in 2022. A total of 35 participants involving Psychology Officers who work at the Serdang campus, Bintulu, Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Hospital, UPM's Office of the Registrar and Colleague Counselor, Innovation Production impact to improve the delivery of mental health services to the citizens of the Universiti Putra Malaysia campus can be achieved in 2023.

Hopefully with the implementation of this workshop will be able to improve the knowledge and skills of UPM's Psychological Officers and AKRAB. It is hoped that some innovations can be produced and highlighted to help UPM campus residents including students and employees. This initiative is in line with the aspirations of the Vice Chancellor of Universiti Putra Malaysia in Intensifying the Campus Wellbeing Initiative. In addition, this initiative also supports the goal of helping students through a holistic well-being program.
