SERDANG, 29 July - The Counseling Division of Universiti Putra Malaysia (BKUPM) continued its commitment to empowering students' career development through the Gamification: Career Exploration programme, held on 28 June 2026 from 8.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. at Dewan Sri Harmoni, Kolej Tun Dr. Ismail (KTDI). The programme was organised in collaboration with the Alumni and Career Networking Secretariat and the Kolej Tun Dr. Ismail Student Representative Council, attracting 69 student participants.

The programme adopted a game-based learning approach to provide students with an engaging and interactive platform for exploring various career pathways. Through a series of games, simulations, and practical challenges, participants gained realistic insights into job scopes, workplace challenges, and the daily responsibilities of professionals across different industries. This experiential learning approach enabled students to better understand career opportunities while making informed decisions about their future.

In addition to career exposure, the programme focused on developing essential employability skills that are highly valued in today's workplace. Participants enhanced their teamwork, problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills through collaborative activities that required strategic planning, creativity, and effective decision-making. These experiences encouraged students to become more adaptable and confident in handling real-world challenges.

The gamification approach successfully transformed career planning from a process often perceived as stressful or monotonous into an enjoyable, interactive, and empowering learning experience. Participants actively engaged in every activity, demonstrating that game-based learning can effectively increase motivation, participation, and interest in career development while fostering healthy competition and collaborative learning.

Overall, the programme successfully achieved its objectives by equipping students with greater career awareness, practical skills, and confidence to plan their future career pathways. BKUPM hopes that similar initiatives will continue to produce graduates who are career-ready, equipped with 21st-century skills, and capable of adapting to the evolving needs of the industry.
