UPM Serdang, 1 August – The Jom Digital @ UPM program - Avoid Being a Victim of Scammers is organized by the Employee Counseling Section of the UPM Counseling Division in collaboration with KEPERTAMA UPM, Yayasan Digital Malaysia and the Community Digital Education Association which was held on 27 July 2023 from 8:30 am until 1:00 pm at Serdang Briefing Hall.

The Jom Digital @ UPM program - Avoid Being a Victim of Scammers is divided into 2 sessions. The first session of Cyber Crime - Avoid Being a Victim was delivered by Mr Zaihan Mahamud. The second slot titled Cyber Crime - Modus Operandi Scammer was presented by Mr. Ahmad Faizal Zulkipli, Chief Operating Officer of Yayasan Digital Malaysia.
Let's Digital @ UPM - Avoid Being a Victim of Scammer program was enlivened with a quiz prize presentation session, lucky draw and recognition of the most PTJ participation. UPM's Security Division, Registrar's Office and Treasurer's Office have been selected to receive the most participation categories. The closing of the ceremony was graced with the presentation of appreciation souvenirs from the UPM Counseling Division which was presented by Dr Mazila Ghazali, Head of the UPM Counseling Division to Ts. Nasru Syazwan Nawai, Chief Executive Officer of Yayasan Digital Malaysia.
This program is carried out to give campus residents the opportunity to gain knowledge and exposure related to cyber crimes that are prevalent in the community. This program is intended as a preventive measure to minimize the risk of UPM citizens being cheated by 'scammers' online. In addition, participants were also given quick and thorough guidance on how to act if they become a victim of a scammer., 115 UPM employees from various positions and PTJ, Prevent UPM employees from the risk of becoming victims of cybercrime by fostering awareness of aspects of personal safety in cyberspace. Program participants can also share the information obtained from this program to colleagues so that more people can benefit. , the Corporate Relations Strategy Center and the Information and Communication Development Center (iDEC) of UPM.
With the hope of the Program Coordinator, Mrs. Kamariah binti Derasol stated "hopefully this cyber security awareness program can be a deterrent to the risk of scammers among campus residents."
