Holistic, BKUPM's Mission in 2022

SERDANG: The UPM Counselling Division (BKUPM) in collaboration with the Majlis Kaunseling dan Kerjaya Awam Malaysia (MAKUMA), the UPM Registrar's Office, AKRAB and the UPM Student Friends Club (KRS) has organized the Putra Holistic Carnival program specifically for UPM citizens and the general community. The program took place from May 23 to June 3, 2022.

 

Putra Holistic Carnival was held for the second time with a name change from Putra Wellness Carnival (PWC) in 2021. The carnival aims to respond to the agenda of Putra@Holistik  by Deputy Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs which emphasizes spiritual, physical, emotional and intellectual balance. The implementation of this carnival also supports the First Strategic Goal of UPM 2021-2025, which is to Produce the Character of Resilient Graduates to Face Future Challenges.

Apart from that, the organization of this program is also one of the platforms used to entertain as many campus residents as possible in a short period of time. With the participation of 1605 people and 4121 participants via live broadcast on Facebook (FB Live).

 

A total of 9 slots were implemented with a varied selection of titles to meet the needs of UPM students and staff. Among the titles of the partnerships that have been carried out are as in figure I below;

The program was officiated by Prof. Dr. Arifin Abdu, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs in the Closing Ceremony which was held at Galeri Putra, Chancellery Building and was also attended by Mr. Abdullah Arshad (Head of HEPA Administration), Dr. Mazila Ghazali (Head of UPM Counselling Division) and representatives of workers' and student association leaders.

 “To be a student leader, a holistic balance that encompasses spiritual, physical, emotional and intellectual aspects is essential so that overall mental health is preserved”. TNC HEPA.

 

It is hoped that the initiative to organize the Putra Holistic Carnival program can benefit UPM residents for the sake of mental health and personal well-being holistically.
