Pre AKRAB UPM Helping Orphans and Asnaf Nur Ain Bakti Home, Bangi

UPM SERDANG- 22 Oct : The Staff Counseling Section, Counseling Division of Universiti Putra Malaysia (BKUPM) in collaboration with members of Pre AKRAB UPM 2022 organized a Community Service Program with orphans and asnaf from Rumah Bakti Nur Ain, Bangi on 22 October 2022 (Saturday). This program is also supported by the Registrar's Office, WAZAN UPM, the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FPSK) and the Faculty of Education (FPP) of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).

 

This community service program aims to empower community service and boost the participant motivation as well as exposure to AKRAB members to share and apply the knowledge that has been gained in the Pre-Akrab Level 1 and 2 courses that have been attended for six days.

 

Various interesting slots have been implemented specifically for the participants. They have been involved in the Aerobics program located at Dataran Kolej 17, Kolej Mustaffa Babjee (KMB). This program is organized by the UPM Counseling Division in collaboration with Tan Sri Mustaffa Babjee College (KMB).

 

Then, the participants were taken to visit the Anatomy Museum, FPSK. In Anatomy Museum, the children were showing through real human organ specimens, health posters and artificial human skeleton models. In addition, participants were given the opportunity to participate in various beneficial activities with the help of faculty’s facilitators.

 

In the afternoon, participants were taken to the Putra Future Classroom at FPP to give exposure and enjoy the classroom atmosphere at UPM. In addition, pre-AKRAB members carry out individual and group coaching sessions.

 

The Closing Ceremony was completed by YBrs. Dr. Mazila Ghazali, Head of UPM's Counseling Division and accompanied by Dr. Azlina Mohd Khir, Program Director and Mr. Ahmad Kazim Aquino Syahril as Manager of Nur Ain Bakti House. Also present at the Opening Ceremony were Mr. Mohamad Ashaari Awab, Head of the Employee Counseling Section and Mrs. Noorihayatti Noorudin, UPM's AKRAB Coordinator.

 

The ceremony also saw the presentation of financial and material donations to 25 orphans and asnaf children as well as special donations for the almshouse. This contribution is the result of various parties.

 

According to Puan Noorihayatti Noorudin, it is hoped that this kind of program can continue to foster enthusiasm and benefit the community as well as provide opportunities for pre-AKRAB members to continue contributing expertise, knowledge transfer and community service.
