UPM SERDANG, 30 April - The Personal Development Section, UPM Counselling Division successfully organised the Psychology Leadership Module E.K.S.P.E.D@FRSB on 24 April 2026 at the Faculty of Design and Architecture (FRSB), Universiti Putra Malaysia. The programme, held from 8.30 a.m. to 12.00 p.m., involved 60 university staff participants as the targeted group.

The programme was designed to enhance participants’ understanding of psychological concepts in leadership while strengthening self-leadership and interpersonal skills. It also aimed to reinforce decision-making abilities and problem-solving skills in dynamic and challenging organisational contexts.

Throughout the session, participants were exposed to interactive learning approaches such as group discussions, leadership simulation activities, and real organisational case analysis. These activities enabled participants to better understand how psychological factors such as emotions, motivation, communication, and stress influence leadership styles and effectiveness in workplace decision-making.

The impact of the programme was clearly evident as participants demonstrated improved knowledge of psychological leadership and the ability to apply it in group-based tasks. They also showed greater confidence in managing interpersonal communication and exhibited more structured and effective leadership behaviour during activities conducted.

In addition, through simulation exercises and case discussions, participants were able to make more effective, timely, and well-informed decisions. This further enhanced their capability to manage real organisational challenges in a professional and strategic manner.

Overall, the programme reflects the continuous commitment of the UPM Counselling Division in strengthening holistic leadership development among staff in a balanced and high-impact manner, in line with the university’s aspiration to produce competent, resilient, and high-quality human capital in a modern organisational environment.
