SERDANG, 24 February – The Putra Sihat Programme Series 1.0: 10,000 Steps UPM, which took place on 10 February 2026 (Tuesday), continues to promote a healthy lifestyle culture among the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) community. Held from 3:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the UPM Padang Kawad, the programme was open to all university members and received an overwhelmingly encouraging response.
A total of 1,040 participants registered for the programme, reflecting the strong commitment and interest of the campus community in health-focused initiatives. The programme not only encouraged participants to achieve 10,000 steps along a designated route around the campus, but also incorporated elements of personal well-being at each checkpoint.
The route covered several key locations, including the Faculty of Food Science and Technology, the Faculty of Computer Science (PKU), the Counselling Division, before returning to Padang Kawad as the finishing point. Each checkpoint offered its own unique activities, providing added value and meaningful engagement for participants throughout the event.
The UPM Counselling Division, which managed Checkpoint 3, highlighted the theme of Campus Community Well-Being through an interactive booth that attracted considerable attention. Located at the parking area in front of the UPM Counselling Division building, participants received positive affirmation cards as a source of motivation and were then invited to place sticker dots on a special display board to select the positive values that resonated most with their personal principles and work ethics. Among the values highlighted were commitment and strong effort, focus on goals, teamwork, punctuality and discipline, the spirit of growth and continuous improvement, excellence, and delivering the highest quality. As an added initiative, BKUPM also provided drinking water to help participants maintain their stamina throughout the programme.
This relaxed yet meaningful approach created an opportunity for participants to engage in self-reflection on the values they wish to cultivate in their professional and personal lives. Overall, the Putra Sihat Programme Series 1.0 was more than just a physical activity; it served as a holistic platform that combined fitness, emotional well-being, and the reinforcement of positive values among the UPM community.
