Three Personalities Agree to Fight Drugs

SERDANG- The Panels, Mr. Sharizan Samad, Psychological Officer of the National Defense University of Malaysia (UPNM), Ins. Mohd Amel Husny, Narcotics Crime Investigation Department, IPD Serdang and brother Ahmad Shukry, Deputy Vice President of the UPM Student Representative Council (MPPUPM) shared about the dangers of drug abuse in the UPM Anti-Drug Forum 2022 (FOUDA 2022). As of June 20, 2022, the FOUDA 2022 video broadcast on Facebook by the UPM Counselling Division has recorded 1300 views. Through the forum, the three panels representing various backgrounds agreed that the war and campaign against drug abuse should be intensified.

They also stated that students and the public need to strengthen the locus of internal control to avoid getting caught up in these unhealthy activities. Also emphasized is the importance of individuals having assertive skills that is brave and firm in rejecting invitations if offered to try by friends or people around them. The participants on the Facebook and Zoom Meeting platforms were generally satisfied with the organization of FOUDA 2022. Among the responses received was that this forum can raise awareness about the drug threat that covers every level of society, legal action if involved and awareness of the role that each can play. It is hoped that programs like this can be continued in the future for the well-being of the campus.
