Serdang, September 30 – The Counseling Department of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has organized the "Towards Career Peak 2024" program with the main objective of achieving career excellence and personal well-being for university staff. This program is conducted in two phases. The first phase involves management and professional (academic) staff, while the second phase includes management and professional (non-academic) staff and support staff.

A total of 43 management and professional (academic) staff and 83 management and professional (non-academic) and support staff participated in this program. The program aims to empower participants with relevant skills to enhance their career performance while emphasizing the balance between professional achievements and personal well-being.

In the first session, Associate Professor Dr. Wan Marzuki Wan Jaafar, Dean of the Faculty of Educational Studies, UPM, stated that career excellence requires good mental and physical well-being. He emphasized that only by maintaining both aspects can an individual reach the highest level of performance in their career field. "Strong mental and physical health is the key to professional success," he said.

In the following session, held on September 13 (Friday), Mr. Jowel Nooh, Deputy President of the Public Service Mentoring Partners (AKRAB), Royal Malaysian Customs Department, highlighted the importance of personal balance as a personal decision to ensure that earnings from salaries are blessed, especially when given to family. "The balance between career and personal life is key to the blessings in one’s income and overall well-being," he added.

This program reflects UPM's commitment to ensuring the well-being and career excellence of its staff, in line with the changes and challenges in a dynamic work environment. Participants praised the program's content as beneficial for their personal and professional development.
