UPM SERDANG, 27 Feb - Bahagian Kaunseling UPM is pleased to welcome two Counsellor Trainees, Nur Azlin Suhaila binti Azman and Nurinsyirah Hanim binti Mohamad Suriadi, who officially reported for duty on 23 February 2026. Both are eighth-semester students from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and will undergo a 20-week industrial training placement under the supervision of the Counselling Division.

Throughout the training period, Azlin has been assigned to the Career Counselling Section, while Hanim is placed under the Administration and Finance Section. This industrial training serves as an essential component of their academic curriculum, providing comprehensive exposure to the counselling field.

Among the key components of the training are conducting counselling sessions with clients, applying counselling theories and techniques in real-life situations, and utilizing inventories and assessment tools in client management. In addition, the trainees will gain exposure to professional ethics, organizational management, and the development of essential professional skills as future counsellors.

The implementation of this industrial training aims not only to enhance practical counselling skills but also to build mental preparedness, work discipline, and time management skills in facing real-world career challenges. At the end of the training period, the trainees will present their industrial training report to members of the Counselling Division as documentation and evidence of their achievements and experiences.

The Counselling Division of UPM extends its congratulations and best wishes to Azlin and Hanim for a meaningful and successful industrial training experience. It is hoped that this opportunity will serve as a valuable stepping stone in their journey toward becoming professional counsellors.
