3 Things To Improve The Mind

Have you ever thought about it? Often you are in an uncomfortable emotional state, tiredness and restless. When reviewed, almost every requirement is sufficient. But it still seems like something is wrong with ourself. Prof. Haslee Shahril Lim Abdullah in the Professor's First Lecture at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), Nilai outlined three important elements in achieving emotional and mental well-being. The summaries of those 3 things are as follows:

1) Acceptance - There are many events, incidents, news have been experienced in by a person in their life. Sometimes there are situations from the event that cannot be fully accepted. The mind is still thinking about it consciously or unconsciously and continues in a state of denial and blame. As a result the experience still shackles thoughts and triggers continuous negative emotions.

2) Forgiveness - forgiving is easy to say but difficult to do wholeheartedly. Especially when it involves matters that are significant to a person. But the fact is that forgiving, letting go sincerely, and appeasing what has happened can give peace to a person's mind. By forgiving themselves and others, individuals give themselves space to rise and move forward by learning from experience.

3) Thankfulness (Gratitude) - Nasyid Raihan's group in the lyrics of the song Antara 2 Cinta mentions "what is there is no gratitude, what is not often worries." Realizing and acknowledging the advantages in oneself will indeed make one calmer and more open-minded. In addition to trying to achieve goals by using the advantages, he has now
