Career Building Mistakes You Should Avoid

By : Syarifah Sheril Azlin binti Syed Baharin K.B.;P.A.

Building a career is an endeavor that emphasizes a high level of commitment for a student. This is because it involves emotional, mental, and physical preparation for each student. As early as the age of 15, students need to be exposed to commitment and effort in building their career. In an effort to build a career, students will experience mistakes that they need to avoid. This information is very important as a guide and students can overcome it early. Here is the error ;-

1. Not building a career goal. Students lack information about developing specific and clear career goals.

2. Students are looking for real career interests, and even lack understanding of the meaning of career interests. The student thinks that the things he likes to do do not mean anything in the effort to build a career.

3. Students are also mistaken in choosing a career interest that suits them because there are too many interests in various career fields. They have many interests but little information about each career they are interested in.

4. Students often feel afraid and lack confidence in trying new things, especially career fields that are not within the scope of studies, family and friends. Students have limited themselves to things or career fields that feel comfortable and easy for them.

5. Students are not active in conducting research for each career they want to pursue. They are more focused on getting information by 'hearsay' and examples from immediate family only.

6. Students are not clear about their potential and personality. And this causes students to easily lose focus and be less aware of their own advantages and find it difficult to match their personality with their career interests.

This mistake will have a less effective impact on building a person's career and can interfere with the career decision to be made.
