"Self-Script: How Your Words Change Your Life" is a self-help concept that emphasizes how the words we use – whether verbally or in our minds – shape the reality of our lives.
The words we repeat every day can become our life script, whether they lead us to success or otherwise. If we want to change our lives, we need to start by changing our internal script. Here are five (5) self-script concepts that we need to master.
The words we use every day become affirmations that influence our actions and decisions. Example: If we always say "I'm not good enough", then we will act in line with that belief.
Solution: Change your script!
From: "I always fail."
To: "I'm learning and getting better every day."
Sometimes, our life scripts are shaped by others – parents, teachers, friends, or society. If we're not aware, we may be living based on other people's hopes or fears, not what we want.
Solution: Recognize whose voice shapes your thoughts. If it's negative or hindering your potential, it's time to write a new script!
Successful people use scripts that build up, not tear down.
Example:
Old Script: "I'm not good at public speaking."
New Script: "I can learn and become more confident with practice."
Solution: Write a new script about yourself and read it every day!
Use these 3 mind reprogramming techniques in your daily life.
The use of language is very important in building a self-script. Example:
Don't: "I'm just lucky when I succeed."
Use: "I succeed because of my efforts and wisdom."
Don't: "I can't do it."
Use: "I will find a way to do this."
In conclusion, we must be responsible for making ourselves the Authors of our own Life Scripts. Every day, we write the script of our lives with the words we use. If we want a better life, we need to start writing a new script that is more positive and constructive.
