The installation of the fluted wall in the BKUPM waiting area was a key initiative to improve and upgrade the space’s ambiance. Previously, the walls showed dirt stains and dents caused by water leaks, and the peeling wallpaper made the area look less appealing. With the addition of a modern and stylish fluted wall, the walls now appear cleaner and more elegant, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere for visitors.
Interestingly, this installation was carried out entirely by our own staff. From measuring the space, selecting materials from various stores, purchasing, to the installation itself, everything was done DIY. This approach not only saved resources and space but also significantly reduced costs. While contractors typically charge around RM 2,000, we successfully completed the project for less than RM 1,000.
The renovated waiting area not only enhances the image and comfort of the space but also encourages university members to feel more relaxed while waiting for their turn or enjoying time reading in the designated corner.
