In a world that is constantly changing with various social influences, it is essential for us to understand and maintain our natural disposition as human beings. Fitrah refers to the innate instincts and values that shape a person's identity, including aspects of self-identity and social relationships. By adhering to the principles of F.I.T.R.A.H., individuals can cultivate a balanced life and stay away from influences that contradict moral values.
F.I.T.R.A.H. Principles:
F – Focus on Self-Development and Life Goals
Every individual has potential that can be nurtured towards success. Focus on long-term goals such as academic excellence, career growth, and harmonious family relationships. By setting clear goals, one can avoid negative influences that hinder personal development.
I – Involve Yourself in Guidance and Positive Support Programs
No one can face life’s challenges alone. Seeking guidance from family, teachers, counselors, or experienced mentors can help individuals understand themselves better and avoid negative influences.
T – Take the Initiative to Learn About Mental Health and Healthy Sexuality
Knowledge is key to making wise decisions. Understanding psychological, biological, and religious aspects of sexuality helps individuals build self-confidence and avoid identity confusion.
R – Regularly Engage with Individuals Who Have a Positive Influence
Social surroundings play a crucial role in shaping a person’s identity. Choose friends and groups that encourage positive values and distance yourself from influences that may lead to identity and moral conflicts.
A – Appreciate the Importance of Family and Traditional Values
Family is the cornerstone of character development. Holding firmly to family values and religious teachings helps individuals understand their roles and responsibilities in society.
H – Have Awareness to Avoid Media and Environments That Promote LGBT Lifestyles
Media, entertainment, and social environments significantly impact thoughts and behaviors. Be mindful of the content you watch, read, and engage with on social media to avoid exposure to elements that contradict natural values.
By practicing the F.I.T.R.A.H. principles, individuals can cultivate a more balanced life based on strong moral and ethical values. Avoiding negative influences is not just about staying away from something but about building a strong, knowledgeable, and resilient self-identity to face life’s challenges.
Let’s work together to preserve our fitrah and strive to become better individuals every day.
